FlashPoint
by Frank Creed

Persecution in Chicago has reached the Flashpoint.

In the year 2036, all nations are run by a one-world government. The
One State has only one threat: Fundamentalist terrorists. The One
State has declared that every Fundamentalist is a terrorist.
Bible believing Christians are now ‘terrorists’!

But the One State has not yet encountered Calamity Kid and
e-girl . . .

When peacekeepers bust a home-church in Ward-Six of the Chicago
Metroplex, brother and sister, Dave and Jen Williams, are the only
members who evade capture. Their only place to turn? A Christian
‘terrorist’ cell known as the Body of Christ.

In their shattered world, Dave and Jen adopt codenames and slip
between the Underground cracks of the Chicago Metroplex. They must
save their home-church before their parents, brother, and neighbors
are all brainwashed by the One State Neros.

Calamity Kid and e-girl fearlessly walk the valley of death, because He
is with them. But they’ll need every molecule of their re-formed faith
to face down peacekeepers, gangers, One-State neros, and fallen-
angels, in America’s dark Post-Modern Humanist age.

War of Attrition: Book Two of the Underground is set in the
Chicago Metroplex, 2036, one month after
Flashpoint ends.

You'll learn more about the Unholy Trinity as "jesus",
codenamed Nasty Nero recovers and comes after Calamity
Kid and company with fresh fury. You'll get to see the loss of
a few more saints from Calamity Kid's muscle cell--there's a
few fresh faces:

  • Vex, the ex-peacekeeper who hails from Mexico's
    Jalisco region.

  • Barren, the sandman who's lost three partners in eight
    months, but packs rabid baditude.

  • Lethe, a human military prototype lab-rat the One
State's slated for retirement. She's a skeptic who
needs protection from the Body of Christ, but can she
    be trusted?

Lots of explosions, action pacing with which Nasty Nero
wears the heroes down, and a hot-'n-heavy finish. If you
liked the first one, this will be worth the wait--the biggest
complaint I've had from Flashpoint's rave reviews!

The big question is Legacy's fate of course. Sorry ya'll, gotta
keep my powder dry on that one.

Thanks to all and pointing up.

I realize this is way past due but I just finished reading your short, True
Freedom
and let me say that both the description and pacing are
phenomenal. The ending is spectacular and I hunger for more. Fantastic
stuff, you are truly an artist.
--Colin Jeffcoat

Some of the content is outright straight science fiction, notably Frank
Creed’s satisfying
Miracle Micro and True Freedom.

Biblical Cyberpunk. Not a genre you'd expect, but Creed has the skill to
pull it off.
